Man2Man has a goal to help men of all races and backgrounds address specific needs, hurts, and struggles from a biblical perspective. Man2Man equips and encourages men of all walks of life to build strong marriages, to increase their confidence, and to take on responsibility in their community.
According to a recent study there are over 98,000,000 men in America and only 35,000,000 of them know Christ. Of these 35,000,000 men, only 8,000,000 are involved in some form of discipleship.
This means approximately one in every twelve men in America is active in discipleship. That would be the equivalent of only one man on a football team ever reading the playbook. Jesus says in Matthew 28:19, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…”
Jesus’ top priority in ministry was to call and equip men to be His disciples. Discipleship was the foundation to His ministry. Even before the Holy Spirit could come and empower the twelve they had to be discipled. This is an essential element the church is lacking. Through discipleship lives are changed and when lives are changed, communities, churches, and ultimately nations will be changed.
The process Jesus used to disciple men was clear and simple to model. Called, equipped, and sent is a practice and a philosophy that will change a man, his family, and his church. The mission set before us is ‘Grow Godly Men.’ Men are the foundation and the bedrock of the family and the nation. Investing and discipling in men is a clear venue for changing society.
Twelve men went out from Jerusalem and revolutionized a world. Their influence and impact is still being felt and noticed today. Discipleship is a tradition that began by Jesus; we must carry this torch and continue to go into the entire world and make disciples to effectively bring change.
